The Day Lola Chose Us

The Day Lola Chose Us

Every pet brand has an origin story. Ours starts with a tiny, scruffy puppy who showed up on our doorstep one afternoon and simply refused to leave. No collar. No tags. No owner searching the neighborhood. Just a pair of bright, trusting eyes and a wagging tail that said,

"I live here now."

That puppy was Lola. And she was absolutely right.

A Puppy With a Plan

We still don't know where Lola came from. She was clearly a stray — a little too thin, a little too dusty, with a coat that was a patchwork of blacks and whites that hinted at a dozen different breeds mixed into one uniquely beautiful dog. The vet's best guess? "A little bit of everything, which means she got the best of everything."

What we do know is this: Lola didn't wander to our house by accident. She walked up to the front porch, sat down, and looked at us like she'd been searching for exactly this family. Our oldest daughter spotted her first through the window. Within five minutes, all three kids were on the porch, and Lola was already getting belly rubs.

We put up flyers. We checked with neighbors. We posted online. Nobody came forward. After a week of sleeping in a makeshift bed on the porch and greeting every family member at the door with a full-body wiggle, the decision was obvious. She wasn't going anywhere — and none of us wanted her to.

Three Kids and Their Best Friend

If you ask our kids, Lola isn't a pet. She's a sister. A co-conspirator. The star player in every backyard adventure.

Our two girls have appointed themselves Lola's official stylists and caretakers. They brush her coat (whether she needs it or not), pick out her bandanas, and have strong opinions about which toys she "really wants." They read to her before bed. They tell her their secrets. She listens to every word with those big, patient eyes.

And then there's our youngest — our little boy — who is convinced that Lola is his personal bodyguard. They nap together. They share snacks (don't tell the vet). He learned to throw a ball specifically so he could play fetch with her. Their bond is the kind of thing that makes you stop whatever you're doing and just watch for a minute.

Lola didn't just join our family. She completed it.

Why We Started Lola WOOF

Once Lola officially became part of the family, we dove headfirst into the world of pet products. We wanted the best for her — the coziest bed, the most durable toys, the safest grooming supplies. But finding quality products that were actually worth the price? That took more research than we expected.

That experience planted a seed. What if we could curate a collection of products we'd actually buy for Lola — and make them easy to find in one place? No filler. No junk. Just thoughtfully chosen gear for dogs (and the humans who love them).

That's how LolaWoof was born. Named after the little stray who chose us, built on the belief that every dog deserves to be treated like family.

Welcome to the Pack

This blog is where we'll share Lola's adventures, our favorite product finds, tips for dog parents, and the occasional story that makes us smile. Whether you're a seasoned dog owner or just welcomed a furry friend into your life, you're part of the pack now.

Because if a scrappy little stray taught us anything, it's this: the best things in life don't always come with a plan. Sometimes they just show up at your door.
